Course description:

The APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Learning System is a comprehensive professional development and certification preparation training program.  The program combines reading material and interactive web-based study tools and tests plus an optional instructor-led option to enhance your learning effectiveness.


The course prepares you for the CPIM exam – Part 1 and/or Part 2 provides a solid understanding of the CPIM body of knowledge which covers five areas:

  • Basics of Supply Chain Management
  • Strategic Management of Resources
  • Master Planning of Resources
  • Detailed Scheduling and Planning
  • Execution and Control of Operations

 

CPIM Exam Preparation

The Cincinnati Chapter offers preparation courses in a classroom setting led by knowledgeable and well-trained instructors. Our goal is to hold a class for each exam at least once throughout the year. Although it may help learning the material by starting with Part 1, the modules do not have to be taken in any particular order.

Other ways to prepare for the exams include: APICS Certification Review Workshops, online APICS CPIM review courses, APICS CPIM primary references, or APICS CPIM self-study.

CPIM Exams

Earning the APICS CPIM certification:

There are no eligibility or education requirements.

Schedule and take the CPIM Part1 and CPIM Part 2 exams. (Instructions for completing the application are available at www.apics.org/cpim)

Pass both parts of CPIM exam.
Number of Exams: Two computer-based exams – CPIM Part 1 and CPIM Part 2.
Exam Format: Each exam part consists of 150 multiple-choice questions answered in 3.5 hours. The computer-based exam is administered through Pearson VUE testing centers worldwide.
